MACHINES

The peripheral machines used to produce decks are a plastic shredder and extruder. Both these machines are also open source and have been popularised by the Precious Plastic Community.

The plastic shredder breaks down plastic waste into small pieces in preparation for extruding.

The extruder pulls the shredded plastic through a heated barrel that melts it ejects it as a liquid from its nozzle

The mould is attached to the nozzle of the extruder and the liquid plastic is injected into it to from the deck.
